Each centre has a different selection of cafés, bars,
clubs and eateries. Popular bars include the Loup
Blanc and La Mine Bar (in Plagne 1800), Cheyenne Café and
Le Tet (in Belle Plagne), Showtime Café (in Bellecôte)
with live music, Monica's (in Plagne Soleil) and Luna Bar (in Plagne
Centre). No B'lm in Plagne Centre is a great bar with live
bands Monday to Thursday (sometimes more often).
The 2 main clubs in La Plagne are - The
Saloon in Belle Plagne and The Cosy Bar in Bellecote (both open
till 4am).
Eating out offers a massive choice throughout
the villages. Fondues or raclette start from around 18 Euros, or
a 3-course meal with wine for around 25 Euros. Try the La Grange
for Savoyard specialities or Matafan and Le Bec Fin for local specialities.
The Taverne du Monchu in Les Coches offers good value also. Try
the traditional restaurants including Le Petit
Chaperon Rouge (in 1800) and Le Loup Garou.
There are weekly excursions to Val d’Isère/
Tignes & 3 Valleys, winter walking, paragliding, skidoos or
try the Olympic Bobsleigh run. There are three cinemas with regular
English films in Plagne Centre and Bellecôte.
Also in the resorts are saunas and jacuzzis, turkish
and seaweed baths, (you can also treat those tired legs to a massage!),
a solarium open-air floodlit ice rink and outdoor heated pool in
Bellecôte. There is a health and fitness centre in Belle Plagne
& Plagne 1800 including a number of squash courts. For the brave-hearted,
you can try the Olympic Bobsleigh run!
