A Christmas holiday in La Plagne is all about a great ski area and convenient piste access.
As a purpose-built resort, much of La Plagne is comprised of unattractive apartment-style blocks on the side of the mountain. Although this might not be aesthetically pleasing, most chalets here are ski in ski out and above 2000m (very good for early and late holidays), and because of the impressive altitude the scenery is amazing. La Plagne, summed up in one word: convenient.

There is still easy access to the centre during the day and high speed links to the main ski area, so it’s perfect. La Plagne has always been known for two things: ease of getting around and a good mixture of slopes. Although also good for beginners, for those that like to get off the slope there is a huge amount of off piste terrain that can be discovered, which sometimes stays untouched for days after heavy snowfall.)
Beginners will find good nursery slopes in La Plagne, with 85% of the runs being blues or reds. And if the La Plagne ski area isn’t big enough for you, then travel on the Vanoise Express over to Les Arcs to make good use of the full Paradiski area.
La Plagne is made up of many villages (including 1800, Centre, Bellcote, Belle-Plagne, Soleil, La Plagne Village, Montalbert, Montchavin, Les Coches, Champagny) - providing some fantastic restaurants, Les Rochers in La Roche and Borseliers in Champagny were 2 particular favourites.

This chalet is in a fantastic location in Belle-Plagne. Being ski in ski out with all rooms en suite, it is great for families and friends alike. The Chanterelle couldn’t be more convenient, with ski school close by, facilities including swimming pool, sauna and hot tub (all facilities beneath the chalet) making the perfect holiday for skiing in la Plagne at Christmas 2009

Quite a modern chalet, but renovated from an nineteenth century village school, the old characteristics of the building have been well maintained. The chalet is very cosy and extremely welcoming, and best of all the value for money is superb. The link to the main ski area couldn’t be easier with new high speed 6 man chair.

Chalet Gemeaux
Sleeping up to 34 people and in the centre of 1800, this chalet offers easy access to the 4 main lift and a short walk to the après ski bar la Mine. They also play live music in the evening. There is ski bus stop right outside the chalet if you wish to ski directly from La Plagne Centre.
