Set high in the magnificent Savoie French Alps, dominated by the mighty Mont Blanc, La Plagne is one of the most famous and exciting high altitude ski areas in the world.

The skiing is an intermediates paradise although there are some exciting off-piste runs for experts who are prepared to hire a guide. The top station on the Glacier de Bellecote is the highest point of the resort (at 3250m) with an exciting descent on the glacier.

One of the first purpose-built resorts in France, La Plagne comprises ten interlinked ski centres, each virtually self-contained with shops, restaurants, ski schools and children's village and with direct access onto the ski area. These include Belle Plagne, Plagne Villages, Plagne Centre, Aime La Plagne, Plagne Soleil and Plagne 1800. Each village is well connected and gondolas and/or a bus service run between them. Linked to Les Arcs by the Vanoise Express lift, the 'Paradiski' area offers a mighty 425 km of pistes. [NB - Following the closure last season of the Vanoise Express lift connecting Les Arcs to La Plagne the Paradiski press office have advised that re-opening of the lift is scheduled to take place on 20th Dec 08...]
